Gift Ideas for the Cyclist in Your Life

Whether your house or garage is full of bike stuff from the cyclist in your family or you have a friend that is in love with their bikes here are some ideas to let them know you are thinking of them during the holidays...

Some questions that will help us help you:

• What kind of bike do they ride? Road, Mountain, Hybrid, BMX, Commuter, Gravel.....
• What types of riding do they do? Road, Mountain, paved trails, trick parks and pump tracks, commuting, leisure…
• If you have an idea of their riding styles and what gear they have, we can help you get just the right gift.

Keep in mind some things have sizes, so if you can sneak a look at what they currently have we can probably get it right the first time. Helmets will usually have a size and model, having both can help you get a close or exact replacement. Helmets may come in a universal size so be aware of that.

Be Safe, Be Seen, Be Noticed:

There is a lot that can go into being safe, but lets start with visibility.

• Bells and horns

Be comfortable:

• Gloves - you can never have too many pairs and some are made for certain weather (i.e. rain, freezing temps)

Getting back on the move:

• A chain cleaner (really gets the grit and grime off of your chain to help prolong its life and that of your gears)

As cyclists we all know that people can be very particular (some call it picky) when it comes to what we ride on and what we wear. With that in mind it can be very hard to identify just the right gift.  So a Joy Ride Gift Card is never a bad idea.

Clothing - Check what they have, most all clothing has sizes on the label, including gloves, shoe covers, jackets and pants.

Helmets – If it is still in there, there should be a sticker with the model, size and year made someplace inside.

Tires and Tubes – Tire sizes will be written or stamped on the sidewall of the tire. Tubes are based on tire size so if you have the tire size we can get a tube for you. The valves can be different so keep that in mind. Presta or Schrader?
