Shop Rides

We are lucky in the greater Olympia area to have a multitude of great riding options available for us as well as several groups that are willing to put together and organize some truly outstanding group rides. Between Capitol Bicycling Club (CBC) and friends of Capitol Forest (FOCF) there are group rides on the road and single track that leave almost nightly, and accommodate all levels of cyclists.

Tuesday: First Tuesday of every month!

Party on garth. After a stellar season of Tuesday rides with some really great people, we've decided that we cant just quit cold turkey on you guys. We will be running our Tuesday rides once a month as a night night. Meet us at 6pm on the first Tuesday of every month for a rider under the lights.

We recommend having at least one light with a minimum of 250 lumens, but we strongly encourage you to have at least 2 lights, a head light and  a bar light,
with a combined output of 1000 lumens.

When your night riding it is a safe bet to give your self an extra hour or two vs. what you would accomplish in the day light. Expect these rides to be about 2-3 hours long, and cover 8-12 miles.  In tradition with our summer rides these will be no drop, and if the weather is nice we'll probably grill out after wards. Bring warm clothes and get ready!

Head over to our webstore and us promo code "RideAtNight" to receive 20% the purchase of any light and motion head light. This offer is webstore only and not valid for in store purchases.

Gravel Sundays: Every Other Sunday!

Winter brings with it some big changes to the way we ride bikes. No longer can you expect to get off work and hit the trails for quick loop with out a good set of lights, and if your planning on getting the long road miles in your going to need to be extra careful of the water and oil slicks on the asphalt. We want to helkp you get out though more this winter, so starting soon JR will be leading out some specific winter rides to help you get used to the change of seasons. Stay tuned to the page for more details.

Gravel Rides: Every Other Sunday

Get your knobbies on and meet us out in the forest to get some miles in! These rides will be 90% gravel logging roads, so minimum 33c tires are recommended, preferably with knobs. Cyclocross bikes work great for this type of riding, as do wider tire "Adventure" Road bikes. Hell you could even bring your XC bike if you think you can keep up on it! These rides will be primarily 20-30 miles (With the option to do more if the group dictates.

Monday Evening Road Rides: Every Monday 6pm at Joy Ride. Starting December 5th

Our monday evening rides will be kicking off on Monday the 28th of November. These rides are led by our amazing shop ambasador Colleen Welch and take place predominantly on the Chehalis Western Trail, so your time riding with cars will be mitigated. Expect to ride for 1.5-2 hours at a reasonable 14mph pace.

And don't forget! It is that time of year again, the sun is going down early and the days are  overcast, so lights are required for this ride. Expect to show up with a head light of at least 250 lumens.

Head over to our webstore and us promo code "RideAtNight" to receive 20% the purchase of any light and motion head light. This offer is webstore only and not valid for in store purchases.
