It really is hard to believe it has been a year without Gravelpalooza as we used to know it. So to commemorate the final ride we did last year, DIY is heading back to some part of that route. Of course in typical Gravelpalooza fashion, we are adding to it.
This month it is all things S-Line! We head back to the north side of the forest but on the quieter (usually) roads. What this route lacks in distance it makes up for with elevation. There are three out and backs and one super savvy connector to the top of what is known as whiskey hill. Keep your eyes out and confidence up as the connector is not easy, it may involve a bit of hiking, but when you meet the treeline, head towards the powerlines and uphill and you will make the connection for a fast descent! The out and backs will take you all the way to the end of S-Line which is unique old growth forest. S-2000 takes you to the bottom of the heart of the S-roads. S-2300 offers superb views of the north side of the forest (on a clear day).
Go at your own pace, do some of it or all of it at once. Pick certain days to pick one climb off at a time, if you prefer. This route really lets you choose your own adventure!
