Happy New Year! We are looking forward to kicking off 2023 with our first gravel ride of the year.
Our route for this Saturday's Gravelpalooza departs from the Margaret McKenny Campground parking area (remember your Discover Pass). We'll start introductions at 10am. Save the route on a navigational device please! Or be sure to partner up with someone that has the route on one.
This route is 24.7 miles with about 2,500ft elevation gain, primarily in the first half of the ride, and features a long steady climb up the C-Line. From there we wrap around the backside of the spine of Capitol Peak. No matter what the weather for this stretch be sure to pack a warm jacket, it always is a few degrees colder there.
For those that want extra spice, we'll send you up to Capitol Peak and Larch (on gravel) for an additional few miles and 800 ft or so of elevation.
If you do plan on attending, feel free to visit the Event Link to let us know you are coming.
*Even though these are no-drop rides, we encourage riders that attend to come with a solid level of fitness. Riding gravel in and around the Capitol Forest is challenging to say the least. Additionally, now is the time to make sure your bike is ready (shifting working smoothly, fresh tubeless sealant, etc.)
