Know your Roots.

A lot of you may not know this, but Joy Ride hasn't always been the shop that you see today. That's right, there was once a time where if you walked in to the shop it wasn't mountain bikes that adorned the walls, there weren't racks of road tires and tubes neatly organized by color and durometer, and don't even ask about fat bikes. In fact for a long time Joy Ride was known as the BMX shop to go to. With a focus on 20" wheels and getting rad off the ramps, Joy Ride built a reputation of the place to be if jumping and spinning was you're jam. Fast forward a decade and the shop has changed a lot. We've grown, expanded, diversified, and in one way or another exist as a shop almost outwardly unrecognizable from the hole in the wall we once were. But we never forgot our roots. Tucked just out of sight of front glass, our BMX wall still proudly displays models from Kink and Fit, our glass display case is still overflowing with hubs and hoops, and bearing and grips. The boys behind the wall still have more fun building custom laced 20" wheels then nearly any other project. And it's not out of the ordinary to see the floor guys loading up their 20" next to their DH whip for a long weekend. What we're trying to say is that even though we're bigger, shinier, and more prominent then used to be, we're still the same shop, with the same ideals and goals. Now look at all of our cool ass shiny bits and do some window shopping ;)

The Pledge.

Fit has always made a good bike, and this year is no exception. The Pledge is an amazing bike for the new rider, or the rider on a budget. Coming in at $359 of pure wallet salvation the Pledge is equipped with a Cromoly top tube and down tube, keeping the strength in the places where it needs it most. Penny saving Hi-ten steel makes of the rest of the construction and a full slew of sealed beating keeps this bad mama jama rolling quick all day.

The Case.

Our case is famous across the South Puget Sound (At least in our minds...) and it's always loaded with all the neat things. Check it yo.

Stay Strange. The crew over at Stranger BMX this year has made to point to ensure that their products stand out. And as far as noticeable finishes go it's hard to compete with Oil Slick...........

Fubars, Perfect Tens, Elevenz... We've got all the bars. In all the colors widths and heights. OK fine maybe not ALL of them, but it's not a stretch. And if don't have it, you know we'll get it for you.
We've also got the best rubbers in the biz. Dirt jump, skate park, or lumber yard, we have a tire for you. it's that easy.

For Cereal. Wear your D@#& Helmet.

Nearly everybody in the shop has a story about how their helmet has saved their life, or at least kept them from being a drooling slobbering, vegetable. So don't a dummy. Put that helmet on before you shred. If you're helmet doesn't fit you, or you don't like the way it feels then come in and talk to the dudes (And chicks) here at JR and we'll get you fitted for a fresh lid. It's worth it.

Will and the staff at Joy Ride went above and beyond to save the day for us. We drove up from Longview to ride a section of the Centralia Western Trail, but upon arrival, one if our bikes, a Folding Gold Rush, was in bad need of repair. The bolt holding the handlebars had broken. Fortunately they were able to find a part in their stock room that not only fixed the problem but fixed it well. Thank you for saving our weekend excursion. Parts for a recumbent bicycle are not always available, but they REALLY came through for us. Thank you doesn't seem to be enough.
